[ENG] Inspired by the ideas of Finnish and Danish theorists of architecture like Juhani Pallasmaa or Steen Eiler Rasmussen, the artist examines the visual aspect of school spaces. The interiors – corridors, classrooms, gym halls, as well as the way their arrangements, are framed as examples of an opressive system of geometric shapes, a system of lines and circles. „A Film About School” draws attention to the surroundings in which the school community is formed, highlighting the way some spaces promote unity and integration while others generate internal divisions and hierarchy.
[PL] Artysta inspirując się rozważaniami fińskich i duńskich teoretyków architektury takich jak Juhani Pallasmaa, czy Steen Eiler Rasmussen w swojej pracy koncentruje się na wizualności przestrzeni szkolnej. Zarejestrowane wnętrza takie jak korytarze, pomieszczenia lekcyjne, sale gimnastyczne, a także ich aranżacje zostały ujęte jako przykład opresyjnego systemu geometrycznych kształtów, systemu linii i okręgów. Film o szkole zwraca tym samym uwagę na otoczenie, w którym kształtuje się wspólnota szkolna, a także to co czyni ją bardziej zintegrowaną i solidarną, a co prowadzi do generowania wewnętrznych podziałów i hierarchii.
